Decking for Estates & Body Corporates Sites in Bulawayo

A deck extends the living area of the house outward. The visible boards are the easy part — the substructure, ventilation and fixings decide how long it lasts.

In this sector the driving requirement is usually: Water-wise planting and efficient irrigation

Bulawayo is hotter and markedly drier than Harare, with a long dry season and persistent water constraints. Landscaping here is a water-management exercise first and a planting exercise second. That matters here because: Intense sun exposure means shade structures and light-coloured paving noticeably improve usability.

• Water scarcity is the defining constraint — drought-tolerant planting, mulching and drip irrigation are standard, not optional extras.
• Artificial turf is often the only way to keep a green lawn area through the dry season without unsustainable water use.
• Sandy soils drain fast and hold little nutrient, so organic matter and mulch depth matter more than elsewhere.
• Intense sun exposure means shade structures and light-coloured paving noticeably improve usability.

We design the deck to the house levels and door thresholds, build a substructure with correct joist spacing and ventilation, and install hardwood or composite boards with concealed or consistent fixing patterns.

• Hardwood timber decking
• Low-maintenance composite decking
• Pool-surround and elevated decks
• Balustrades, steps and integrated seating
• Deck sanding, sealing and restoration

Estates & Body Corporates premises rarely close for a contractor. We sequence the work in zones, agree access and working hours before starting, and keep the site tidy daily so the rest of the premises stays usable.

• Warmer and softer underfoot than paving
• Works over slopes and existing slabs
• Extends usable living area without building work
