Garden Design & Installation for Industrial Sites in Johannesburg

A garden design decides where you sit, what you look at, and what the space costs you in water and weekends. Good design settles those questions on paper before anything is planted.

In this sector the driving requirement is usually: Tidy verges, yards and boundary lines that do not harbour litter or pests

Johannesburg is a highveld garden city built on a ridge: intense summer thunderstorms, dry winters with frost in low-lying suburbs, and a mature urban tree canopy that puts much of the older northern suburbs into permanent part shade. That matters here because: Summer storms arrive fast and heavy — stormwater falls, channel drains and paving sub-bases have to be sized for short, intense downpours rather than steady rain.

• Summer storms arrive fast and heavy — stormwater falls, channel drains and paving sub-bases have to be sized for short, intense downpours rather than steady rain.
• Mature jacarandas and plane trees create deep shade where Kikuyu thins out; LM lawn or artificial turf usually outperforms it in those positions.
• Winter frost in low-lying suburbs browns off warm-season grasses, which is often the trigger for switching high-visibility areas to artificial turf.
• Older suburbs frequently have clay-rich soil that holds water, so bed drainage and raised planting are worth specifying rather than assuming.

We produce a layout with bed lines, circulation, focal points and a planting palette selected for aspect, soil and water availability. Installation includes soil improvement, planting to spacing, staking, mulching and an establishment schedule.

• Concept layout and planting plan
• Soil analysis, compost and drainage improvement
• Indigenous, water-wise and ornamental planting schemes
• Feature trees, hedging and screening for privacy
• Mulching and establishment care programme

Industrial premises rarely close for a contractor. We sequence the work in zones, agree access and working hours before starting, and keep the site tidy daily so the rest of the premises stays usable.

• Plants that survive because they suit the position
• Year-round structure rather than a single seasonal flush
• Clear budget because the plant schedule is priced item by item
