Water Features in Ruwa

Water is the sound that makes a garden feel finished. It also needs circulation, filtration and access for maintenance, or it becomes a liability.

We design and build features with correct liner or shell construction, pump sizing, filtration, lighting and safe electrical work, plus access for cleaning.

Choose the visual focus and intended sound, then check water supply, nearby seating and maintenance access. A pond and cascade, wall water feature and reflection basin have different circulation and cleaning needs. Consider children, pets and public access before committing to an open body of water.

Identify the basin, waterproofing approach, pump, filtration and power provision, with access to replace or clean components. Overflow and drainage should be planned before surrounding paving is finished. Confirm electrical responsibilities and operating requirements rather than assuming a pump is the whole installation.

Ruwa is a fast-growing satellite town east of Harare, with new residential developments landscaped from bare ground.

For water features specifically, the deciding factor here is usually this: Highveld conditions suit a wide planting palette once soil has been properly prepared.

A second condition we plan against on Ruwa sites: Newly built stands need boundary planting and screening from day one.

• New developments hand over on compacted fill requiring ripping and topsoil before lawn.
• Borehole supply is common, so irrigation is designed to real pressure and flow.
• Newly built stands need boundary planting and screening from day one.
• Open new stands are frost-exposed until planting and structures mature.

Ruwa shares the Harare highveld climate: a summer rain season from November to March, a cold dry winter with frost on open ground, and a hot dry spell before the rains.

We schedule water features around that rhythm rather than around our own diary, because timing changes how well the finished work settles in its first season.

• Frost settles readily on new, open stands that have no established canopy or walls to shelter them.
• The summer rains are the best window for establishing lawn and new planting.
• September and October are hot and dry, and newly planted gardens need daily water then.
• Highveld conditions suit a wide planting palette once soil has been properly prepared.

Water Features suits the property types we see most often around Ruwa and the surrounding Mashonaland East area.

• New residential developments
• Smallholdings
• Light industrial premises
• Entrance courtyards and arrival experiences
• Garden focal points and screening road noise
• Hotel, lodge and office reception landscapes

Outdoor living structures are set out against the house lines and the way the space is used through the day, not dropped onto a convenient patch of lawn.

• Set-out on site with the sun path and prevailing wind considered
• Foundations and fixings sized for the structure and ground
• Weather-appropriate timber, steel or masonry specification
• Services — power, water, gas, lighting — planned before build
• Sealing, finishing and a written maintenance schedule

Preparation decides how long the finish lasts, so it is specified in writing rather than assumed on site: levels, drainage, sub-base or substrate, and edge or perimeter detailing.

• Ponds, cascades and streams
• Wall-mounted spouts and rills
• Reflection pools and formal basins
• Pumps, filtration and underwater lighting

• Masks traffic and neighbour noise
• Creates a genuine focal point
• Supports birdlife and biodiversity

We install throughout Ruwa, including Damofalls, Zimre Park, Windsor Park, Ruwa Town, and travel to nearby harare, marondera, norton.

We work from a service area rather than a walk-in branch, so the first meeting happens at your property.

• Windsor Park
• Ruwa Town

Programme and price both depend on the site rather than a rate card: access for materials and machinery, the amount of levelling or demolition needed, drainage work, the area covered, and the material specification you choose.

We quote line by line after measuring the site in Ruwa, so you can compare our scope against any other quotation honestly. We do not publish per-square-metre prices, because a quoted rate without a specification tells you nothing.

You receive a written care schedule at handover covering cleaning, seasonal checks and anything that needs attention in the first months. Optional maintenance visits are available where a property needs a consistent standard year-round.
